AIA Hong Kong “Hello Fellow” with Professor Nelson Chen @KI Cubus

AIA Hong Kong (A Chapter of The American Institute of Architects​) hosted their First Quarterly Meeting plus “Hello Fellow” event titled Professing Architecture by Professor Nelson Chen at our Gaggenau & Poggenpohl Showroom KI Cubus​ in Causeway Bay on 26 March 2019 .

The AIA Fellowship program was developed to acknowledge architects who have made significant contributions to architecture and society and achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Fellowship recognises the achievements of the architect as an individual and honours the awardee on a national, or international, level. The AIA College of Fellows seeks to stimulate a sharing of interests among Fellows and encourages them to promote the purposes of the Institute, advance the profession of architecture, mentor young architects, and be of ever-increasing service to society.

Kitchen Infinity always support young designers and architects and this event was one of the FAIA Leadership Series. All AIA members enjoyed a great night at our venue, especially the specialities prepared by Gaggenau cooking appliances.

Star Guest, German Wine Queen
To celebrate the Gaggenau launch and the annual Riesling Week*, Germany’s 69th Wine Queen, 27-year-old Ms. Katharina Staab visited Hong Kong for the first time as the honourary guest. Raised up in her family’s winery, Ms. Staab studied business in the Great Wine Capital of Mainz, Germany and wrote her Master’s degree in Lisbon, Portugual. Her valuable international travel experience and her global role as wine ambassador led her to today’s successful achievements. Now that Ms. Staab got elected by the German Wine Institute to be the wine queen on a supra-regional level. She demonstrated her expertise in the origin and significance of individual grape varieties. She also conveyed the uniqueness of Germany’s versatile fine wines.

The Annual Topnotch Wine Event – Gaggenau Sommelier Awards 2018
Further cementing Gaggenau dedication and contribution to educating young wine aficionados from all over the world, Gaggenau will be hosting its 3rdGaggenau Global Sommelier Award in Beijing this year in October. Beijing offers the perfect stage to present international Sommelier Awards, and provides an opportunity to highlight China’s rapid progression, as an established wine producing country. The winner of the Awards will receive official status as a global Gaggenau cultural ambassador and other prizes.

As a kick-off to applaud 30th Annniversary of Kitchen Infinity Holdings Limited, Gaggenau Distributor Hong Kong & Macau, and spectating the promising opportunities of wine culture in the Greater China Region, the “3rd Gaggenau Sommelier Awards – Hong Kong Heat” took place in Hong Kong on June 14 in its Showroom, KI Cubus. Highly talented young sommeliers from prestigious hotels and influential eateries groups have been nominated. Two winning candidates from Hong Kong Heat will joined the Greater China Region Semi- Finals in Shanghai on July 17, 2018; and gained an opportunity to participate the Global Finals in Beijing on October 17, 2018.

The sommelier profession has come a long way from traditional wine waiter to expert advisor of guests in their choice of wine. Talented sommelier enhances delicious dining experience. With competence and a great deal of intuition they compose wine recommendations to match a wide variety of different foods. Aside from familiarity with regional and international wines, in-depth knowledge of spirits, beer, coffee, tea, water and other non-alcoholic beverages is expected.
The extensive knowledge of the participants in the Gaggenau Sommelier Awardswas put to the test before a Judging Panel (including Head of Judging Panel, Master of Sommelier, Darius Allyn; First Master of Sommelier in China, Yang Lu; Wine Critic, Rebecca Leung; and 69th German Wine Queen, Katharina Staab in 3-rounds competition: (1) Wine Knowledge; (2) Blind Tasting; (3) Serving.

Cellar Manager, Taka Tam from Hip Cellar Limited; Head Sommelier, Reeze Choi from Van Gogh Senses; Head Sommelier, Michael Chan from American Club; Head Sommelier, Nick Koon from Grand Lisboa Hotel; and Ric Choi of Bo Innovation met at the Gaggenau Showroom, KI Cubus in Hong Kong to compete for the semi-finalist of Gaggenau Sommelier Award of the Year 2018 – Hong Kong Heat. At the competition, they impressed everyone with their considered selection of wines and appealing presentation.

The opening ceremony took guests and our media friends to the Black Forest in Germany, where Gaggenau – a hammer mill back then – embarked on a revolutionising journey in 1683. “The decoration of the venue brings back the memories of our heritage back in the Black Forest,” says Mr. HendrikKretzer, Regional Executive Vice President of BSH Home Appliances Asia Pacific. “It is an atmospheric symbol of our dedication to revolutionise domestic kitchens over 333 years.”

Bursts of loud applauses came as the opening ceremony reached its grand moment – the cake cutting ceremony. Kitchen Infinity thoughtfully prepared a Black Forest Cake to give its guests ‘a real taste’ of the origin of Gaggenau.

Amidst lush green landscape, a German nail forger – for this first time away from his hometown – demonstrated traditional nail forging techniques, as an emblematic performance to convey Gaggenau over 333 years of heritage.Today, a carpenter from Poggenpohlwas also present for an exclusive wood polishing demonstration, which symbolises the pursuit of craftsmanship and perfection of Poggenpohl, a legendary best- known kitchen brand founded 125 years ago.

For customers to relish the true art of cooking, KI Cubus, over 3000 sqfts showroom prestigiously located in the heart of Causeway Bay, leads tastemakers into a journey to explore heritage and innovation of the luxury kitchen appliances.

Chinese Culinary Class With Chef Chan Kwok Keung

Gaggenau is delighted to invite renowned chef, Mr Chan Kwok Keung (陳國強), to share with many the culinary tastes from different regions of China as well as the technique opf ‘slow-cooking’. Chef Chan has over 20 years of culinary experience in Beijing, Huaiyang, Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine.

Menu items for the day were – Roasted Duck Beijing Style (北京烤鴨), Slow-cooked Pigeon in Abalone Sauce (慢煮鮑汁乳鴿) and Slow-cooked Sea Garoupa with Shredded Chilli (慢煮剁椒海斑).

AUDI A8 L launch

Gaggenau takes great pleasure to be a proud partner at the premiere gala dinner of the Audi A8 L at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal on May 27 & 28. The latest sedan was a perfect emblem of design aesthetic and technology excellence, the core value both Gaggenau and Audi share and keep on pursuing.

Gaggenau invited city’s top mixologists from contemporary Spanish restaurant Catalunya Hong Kong to create themed cocktails specially designed for the event. Guests’ taste buds were delighted with an exquisite dessert feast prepared by Michelin Three Starred Chef Uwe Opocensky of Mandarin Oriental fresh from Gaggenau pop-up kitchen.

Guests were indulged in a full range of entertainment. Calvin Klein debuted its minimal yet modern Fall 2014 Calvin Klein platinum label in Hong Kong; Lorenz Bäumer, Louis Vuitton fine jewelry designer and former Chanel haute joaillerie designer, showcased his latest jewellery collection. Enlighten – Action for Epilepsy 10th Anniversary Charity Dinner

Gaggenau and Poggenpohl were very proud to participate in a worthy cause, as platinum sponsors to Enlighten – Action for Epilepsy 10th Anniversary Charity Dinner. The night was themed Old Hong Kong, with the ballroom transformed into the 1960s’ Hong Kong streets. Guests were basked in the glow of yesteryear with nostalgic dance and entertaining performance reminiscent of the time.

Enlighten has been devoted to benefit epilepsy sufferers and their families for the past ten years, with the support of Ms. Anson Chan Fang On-Sang, Ms. Karen Mok and many others. The 10th anniversary dinner raised much needed fund for the charity to provide support to those directly or indirectly affected by epilepsy and ‘enlighten’ the society of the illness.

Gaggenau specially developed a delectable offering of 1960s themed canapés with its first class kitchen appliances. As platinum sponsors of the gala event, Gaggenau and Poggenpohl also contributed directly to the charity effort by sponsoring Dr. David Fang in his singing performance, a highlight of the evening.

Exclusive Black Party

A tribute to the ultimate luxury lifestyle at its finest, Gaggenau and Poggenpohl, partnering with the ‘Raging Bull’, Lamborghini, hosted the Exclusive Black Party to ignite the five senses of our guests at the House of Gaggenau and the House of Poggenpohl.

The House of Poggenpohl were transformed to the sophisticated hub of entertainment and leisure of the party, as a best way to showcase the brand’s philosophy that modern luxury kitchen has become the centre stage of tasteful lifestyle in a house, instead of merely a traditional cooking area.

At the House of Gaggenau, Michelin-star Chef Jonay Armas of The Principal presented a culinary workshop, demonstrating how professional kitchen appliances can change complicated cooking into an easy delight.

Guests were taken on a journey of the five senses by some authentic European art of living experts. Starting with a lavish ride on Lamborghini flagship model Aventador LP 700-4, peering a sip of crispy No. 1 Italian beer Peroni, the guests were then taken to a French macaron workshop by Paul Lafayet and a chocolate dessert studio with Valrhona masters. After a palate delight, they were welcomed to the touch and sight indulgence: enjoying a regenerative hand massage by Lancôme ABSOLUE L’Extrait while appreciating some avant-garde Chinese contemporary art works.

Peroni Amici

Spoiler alert: it was for sure the most surprising and exciting event you can imagine!

When 12 most exclusive guests were invited to the “Peninsula”, they thought they would have another ordinary night in the Peninsula Hotel. Yet, when they arrive in the hotel, instead of a classy private dining room, it was a helicopter waiting for them.

After 15 minutes of flying, guests arrived in an actual peninsula, the backyard of a private house in clear water bay. Then again, instead of the homie bench and barbeque hob, there was a well decorated marquee, inside which Chef Pino Lavarra, executive chef of Michelin starred Tosca were cooking a lavish dinner on the most luxurious Gaggenau pop up kitchen.
Peroni set up the most unbelievable experience as a celebration to launch their Amici programme in Hong Kong. Guests were indulged in the most beautiful sunset while sipping the refreshing and crispy Peroni beer.
Before the night falls, guests started their lavish dinner. Every dish was live cooked by Chef Lavarra with Gaggenau most advanced kitchen appliances, making sure each bite is at its best flavor.
The collaboration between Gaggenau and Peroni, two art of living masters, reflects the brands’ relentless pursuit of ultimate sensational enjoyment and savoir-faire.

Cow Parade

Strato, the Italian haute couture kitchen system designer, has always been the perfect epitome of unique design with unparalleled creativity. It is no wonder that Marco Gorini and Gianna Farina, owner and chief designer of Strato, recently created a life-sized cow sculpture in support of Hong Kong’s first CowParade, one of the most reputable international public art exhibitions.

The exquisite art piece, named Milk Bar, was created with industrial aestheticism. There is a cut-out in the middle made entirely of copper as a tribute to Strato’s signature kitchen design ‘Semplice’. Milk Bar, along with four other cow sculptures designed by international renowned artists, will be auctioned after a one-month exhibition at Stanley Plaza. All proceeds of the auction will be donated to “Heifer International Hong Kong” and “Giving Love”.

CowParade Hong Kong, was part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Lamborghini. Milk Bar was specially selected and toured around the city in an ad truck at Causeway Bay, Central, Wanchai and many other places for a week as a representative to announce the coming of this breathtaking event. On April 27th, 30 Lamborghini super sports cars paraded together with the Milk Bar ad truck from Central to Stanley Plaza to kick off the opening ceremony. Many prominent guests, including Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok, joined the ceremony of speed and passion.

During the opening ceremony, German luxury kitchen specialist Gaggenau provided an authentic Italian epicure experience to the connoisseurs, giving guests a 360 degree of enjoyment of vision, speed, taste and excitement.

Longines Hong Kong Masters 2013

Poggenpohl and Gaggenau took pride in the sponsorship for Longines Hong Kong Masters 2013.

The Longines Hong Kong Masters 2013, the Asian leg of the Grand Slam (Paris, Hong Kong, New York) is the first international show jumping event and the only five-star accredited competition on the equestrian calendar taking place in Asia, where 25 best riders worldwide compete for a prize of US$1,000,000. Joining hands with only best of the best, including Longines, Gucci, EADS Airbus, Ferrari, Leica, Veuve Clicquot, and many more, the Longines Hong Kong Masters has become a superstar in the sports and social scene of 2013!

Gaggenau set up four pop-up kitchens, over 20 metres long in total, at the Prestige Village on site and invited four highly acclaimed restaurants, Institut Paul Bocuse (by ‘Chef of the Century’ Mr. Paul Bocuse), Tim Ho Wan, the Dim-Sum Specialist, a Michelin one star restaurant, Loyal Dining Restaurant and Shanghai Lo Restaurant for an utmost authentic gourmet experience. Guests were indulged in a palate delight while enjoying the magnificent equestrian competitions and shows.

Prix Poggenpohl, one of the competitions of the unrivaled grand slam, started with an equestrian programme specially developed for Poggenpohl. After enjoying a hearty breakfast by Yves Mattagne, a Two-Star Michelin chef from Belgium with their parents, around 40 children were taken for some incomparable experience, where they learnt about the sport, talked to elite riders and diligent grooms and walked on the first class equestrian competition arena.

The programme was wrapped up with Prix Poggenpohl, a seamless collaboration of the Longines Hong Kong Masters and Poggenpohl, both epitomizing perfect technical excellence and utmost attention to details. The collision created some exciting chemistry and pushed the event to a new high.

Poggenpohl and Gaggenau went “beyond wild” when 30 Lamborghini super sports cars parked in front of their flagship store in Causeway Bay, blocking the whole street.

The gathering was to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of Lamborghini Club Hong Kong and preview the latest model of the most reputable Gallardo family, the Gallardo LP560-4.

The House of Poggenpohl and the House of Gaggenau were the destination of an exciting parade of 30 Lamborghinis from West Kowloon Cultural District, led by the New Gallardo LP560-4.

Gaggenau, the European culinary art advocate, hosted a hearty breakfast, where the car owners shared the stories of their beloved Lamborghini with gastronomic enjoyment.

White Truffle Hunt and Gala Dinner

Gaggenau staged the city’s first white truffle hunt and dinner, as a tribute to their professional and sculptural kitchen appliances, which are equally rare and priceless as white truffle in culinary world.

The event commenced with a hunt for the white diamond, where 20 socialites and journalists were taken on an odyssey by Audi A8 sedan with a chauffeur from their residence to Hullett House, then Audi Kowloon and had their final adventure at the newly opened House of Gaggenau, where they hunted for a hidden truffle in an “edible truffle forest”.

The hunt preluded an evening of white elegance, where 150 city’s most prominent guests were treated to a night of ultimate gastronomy enjoyment at the courtyard of the Hullett House. Chef Ryan Clift, owner and executive chef of The Tippling Club, best 20 restaurants in Asia, elaborately created a six-course feast themed with “the white diamond”. A highlight of the dinner came as the guests bidding for a large white truffle sponsored by Gaggenau to support UNICEF.

The event reflects the most genuine passion of Gaggenau to promote refined culinary arts and its persistent pursuit of the “bella vita”.

The House of Gaggenau Grand Opening

Gaggenau, the German luxury kitchen appliance specialist, celebrated the opening of the House of Gaggenau, the first flagship showroom in Hong Kong, with tremendous support from the city’s and international elites on October 25th 2012.

Gaggenau takes pride in its persistent pursuit of culinary art and European art of living. Opening a 1,500 sq. ft. culinary studio, along with a private dining room and showcase kitchen styled after a private clubhouse, Gaggenau will further enforce its culinary passion with many inspiring and exciting collaborations with celebrity and Michelin starred chefs.
Upon entering the showroom, guests are impressed by a ‘Heritage Wall’ made from the wood of a century-old Black Forest lodge. It is completed with a vintage cuckoo clock and Gaggenau’s most iconic masterpiece, oven EB388, a permanent exhibit in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The wall represents a history of 330 years of technical excellence of Gaggenau and can be found in all Gaggenau flagship showrooms worldwide.

Gaggenau has gained magnificent support from many culinary masters worldwide for its contribution in bringing professional kitchens to domestic users. At the opening of the House of Gaggenau, you could see chef Ryan Clift from Singapore, Gaggenau International Culinary Ambassador, who is famed for helming The Tippling Club, one of the best 20 restaurants in Asia, chef Federico Duarte from Shanghai, executive chef of Institut Paul Bocuse, founded by ‘Chef of the Century’ Paul Bocuse and many celebrity chefs from the Hong Kong Chefs Association.
